weekly roundup of vintage(ish) finds, number eight
vintage levi's, coffee table books, and a few other gems
Last Sunday, I kissed my family goodbye at the crack of dawn (it was 7:30am…) and headed to the Rose Bowl Flea Market with a stack of cash and a hot coffee. Since I moved to LA, I’ve been to the RBFM a dozen times. When I first started my vists, I’d stay exclusively in the vintage home section, finding gorgeous coffee table books, iron wrought magazine racks, and an endless supply of glassware.
It wasn’t until recently that I crossed the bridge (literally, you have to cross a little bridge) to the vintage clothing section, and navigated the endless world of vintage(ish) levi’s.
This past weekend I picked up three pairs which are making my pile of slouchy jeans from Frame nervousssssssss. They’re the perfect fit.
No matter what, I always have my eye out for used books, especially art ones. Buying these second hand will not only help with the cost side of things, but also open your world up to something beyond the algorithm. It puts the onus on you to browse and ultimately decide if you like something or not.
This week’s vintage(ish) finds are inspired by my weekend finds, and feature heavily on levi’s and books.
Jeans, first
Levi's 501 Vintage Jeans / Size 33 34 via Etsy
This wash is great, and in great condition. At $125, these are the most $$$ of this roundup. Fits like a modern 32 or 33.
80s Levi's 20517-0217 Orange Tab via eBay
Dark wash jeans are on my radar lately. I love these, might have to snag them up myself!! Excellent condition, and a zip-up fly (which I sometimes prefer). Fits like a modern 28, $50.
