Dear Reader,

I’m a creature of habit and crave predictability and reliability in many areas of my life. Getting dressed is one of them. I’m the first to admit that I have a hard time being adventurous with my style. It’s probably equal parts having a strong sense of what I like and holding on tightly to what I know.

Still, as the seasons change and my days start to look different (so many more social commitments, holidays, colder/shorter days), I find myself wanting to push my comfort zone a little — especially when it comes to what I wear. The easiest way for me to do this is to switch up my footwear. You know I wear ballet flats all day, every day (I really mean that. I even walk my dog in them!!). But after spending a few weeks between New York and Paris seeing loads of cool ladies in boots, I found myself wanting to wear them. So when the brand Inez reached out last month to send me a pair of black boots, I immediately said yes.

The first time I heard about Inez was exactly a year ago. My aunts and I were discussing for the fiftieth time what they’d wear to my sister’s black-tie December wedding, when my aunt Alex showed me a pair of heels that were just right for her dress. “Also, don’t they look so comfortable??” she noted. Alex encouraged me to check out the brand — a recommendation I took seriously (all of my aunts are very chic and have excellent taste). What stood out most to me about Inez was their commitment to comfort and craftsmanship. When I shop (especially for shoes), both of those things are at the top of my list of priorities. The brand instantly resonated with me.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve worn both colors out and about, and while I was initially nervous about styling the lighter suede, a little time in my closet quickly changed that. Those looks turned out to be the perfect transitional outfits for the cooler seasons, and I can’t wait to rewear them.

How I’ve Worn The Inez Paz Boots

Look One

Out for lunch with a friend. Wearing a Jenni Kayne polo // AGOLDE jeans // Khaite belt // Ray Ban sunglasses // Hunting Season bag // Inez Paz ginger suede boots.

The suede is soft and stretchy at the ankles, hugging them just right to create a tapered, elongated look. I’m pulling the jeans up on the right side so you can get a better look.

Look Two

An easy weekend look. Wearing a Buck Mason wrap sweater coat // Asher tshirt // Khaite denim // Inez Paz ginger suede boots.

Look Three

Mid-day matcha run. Wearing a Reformation cashmere sweater // AGOLDE jeans // Khaite belt // Le Specs sunglasses // Inez Paz ginger suede boots.

Another angle of the boot so you can see the zipper. These are boots you can take off on your own. Don’t need to call in reinforcements or use the side of your bed to take these off!! Been there… haha.

The almost 3-inch block heel is perfect for everyday wear while still looking elevated and polished. The inside feels so plush and comfortable. Also, love the pointed toe + block heel. Sleek in the front, but with a walkable heel.

As I sat down to plan outfits for November, I couldn’t help but include both boots in looks I’m excited to wear. I think the last one with the red sweater is my favorite!

Look One

Styling the Inez Paz ginger suede boots with an AYR button-up (I’ve heard EXCELLENT things about their button-ups, both my mother and sister love them) // Dorsey earrings (I like the petite size) // Khaite denim // Khaite bag // and (sorry, haha) Khaite eyeglasses. If you need to throw a coat over this, the previous Alex Mill brown one is perfect.

Look Three

For that freezing cold day that’s right around the corner. Styling the Inez Paz ginger suede boots with a fuzzy, grey Alex Mill coat // Almada Label turtleneck // GWYN wide leg white denim // same Dorsey earrings as the previous look (I think these might be my holiday earrings) // and a Khaite clutch. The key here is to go oversized in the sweater and size up one/two sizes. Everything should look drape-y and luxe. Hair up or tucked into the turtleneck.

Look Four

From my desk straight to dinner with girlfriends. Preferably at a Hillstone restaurant. An outfit for this upcoming holiday season, when all of a sudden you need three cups of coffee a day, but still gotta look good ;) .
