the case for outfit remixing, summer edition
your looks for next week, sorted (and remixed)
Dear Reader,
Last spring, I wrote about outfit remixing. The idea really resonated with many of you (which thrills me!!), and hearing your povs on outfit remixing reminded me that I’m not alone in the occasional getting-dressed fatigue and ennui that hits, especially when summer comes around.
First, a refresher (or introduction) to outfit remixing:
The idea is simple. You take either the top or bottom of yesterday’s outfit and remix it the next day. So, if I wear a matching linen set today, I’ll rewear the pants with a button-up shirt tomorrow. The following day, I’ll rewear that same button-up, but style it with vintage Levi’s. It’s outfit repeating—but with a twist.
My goal when I wrote the original piece was to improve my outfit remixing skills, so that by summer, I’d have a dressing tool I could rely on. Listen, I’m not the first (and definitely won’t be the last) person to admit that dressing for the heat can feel tedious, sometimes even boring. But turning it into a little game of remixing brought back some creativity and ease to my wardrobe this week.
Below are seven remixed looks, featuring my most-worn summer pieces. They lean more covered-up than your usual summer outfits, and that’s on purpose. I feel most comfortable showing a little more décolletage and a little less leg. But, I hope you can translate this to your own wardrobe and preferences.
Let me know if you try this out!
All my best,
Natalia

Before we get into the last look, I have to confess — I accidentally shot this look with the wrong pants. So, I booked a studio to shoot content for some brands, and ended up loving the lighting and the vibe so much that I decided to shoot all the looks for this outfit remixing post there too. This was the very last shot of the day, and I grabbed the wrong jeans. Same color as the previous ones from The Row… but not the ones I planned!! I hope you still get the idea.
Here’s the final look.

I need to try this and get over my paranoia that someone will realize I’m wearing the same shirt two days in a row and judge me for it. 🫣
The Doen shirt with the red Donni pants and ballet flats is perfection!! Loved seeing how you remixed your outfits. x
